Cambodia Casinos

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where casino gaming is not legal. Eight casinos are established in a relatively tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime spot, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai laborers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few restrictions requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; although, financing sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and although visas are supposedly required to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.
The 1st Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored ship gambling den, features one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty tables. The Naga river boat never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive resort and hotel complex that features numerous comforts in addition to the gambling hall, which contains ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty slots and 88 tables.
