There is an interesting background to the Cambodia casinos that sit just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling den gambling is prohibited. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a relatively small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent destination, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai laborers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income acquired from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few limitations constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; still, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and even though visas are for all intents and purposes needed to pass, there are ways around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked ship gambling den, features 150 slots and 60 tables. The Naga river boat is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slots and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the familiar table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight casinos in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international resort and hotel complex that contains numerous luxuries accompanying the gambling hall, which has ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight gaming tables.
